Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10 reach their end
Microsoft announced that from January 12, 2016, only the most current version of Internet Explorer will be available for technical support and security updates. Internet Explorer 11 is the last version, and will continue to receive security updates, compatibility fixes and technical support. This way, Microsoft encourages customers to upgrade and stay up-to-date with the latest browser for a faster and more secure browsing experience.
This means that Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10. This ending support for older versions will allow the company to focus on Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11, which have been very well-received. Microsoft Edge is Microsoft’s brand new browser for Windows 10, which becomes the default web browser on both PC and Windows 10 Mobile.
Windows 10 is powering 200 million active devices
Six months after the release of Windows 10, it is already powering 200 million devices worldwide. Microsoft announced that Windows 10 continues to be on the fastest growth trajectory ever, compared to versions Windows 7 by nearly 140% and Windows 8 by nearly 400%.
Such success is not a surprise if we know that Windows 10 is highly functional operating system containing apps with a great quality. What is more, this improved version of Windows has free download and it is easy to upgrade.
If we consider all these facts, a great demand for this operating system is actually expected.
